Do your workers have the required training by law? All workers in Ontario are required to take a Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training at least once and must produce proof of training upon request
This course provides workers the foundational knowledge of health and safety rights and responsibilities of workers, supervisors and employers and general workplace safety for workers across all of Ontario. This course meets the requirements outlined in Ontario Regulation 297/13 for the 4 Step Worker Health and Safety Awareness program.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed specifically for and should be attended by all workers. Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) a worker is defined as:
- “Someone who performs work or supplies services for monetary compensation”
- “A secondary school student who performs work or supplies services for no monetary compensation under a work experience program authorized by the school board that operates the school in which the student is enrolled.”
- “A person who performs work or supplies services for no monetary compensation under a program approved by a college of applied arts and technology, university, career college, or other post-secondary institution.”
As such, this course is designed for workers in all industries.

- In this brief, awareness-level course outlines how you can interpret the safety culture in your workplace and how you can contribute to a safe and respectful work environment.
