Certification & Compliance
What you Get
Our boom and scissor lift certification program has been tailored with industry standards in mind to get you certified. Get industry-recognized boom and scissor lift certification upon course completion.
What You Will Receive:
- A wallet-sized certificate that is fully compliant with CSA B354.7:17 / B354.8:17 standards.
- It will be valid for 3 years, after which a refresher course will be needed to extend the validity.
- Detailed Record of Training (private sessions only)
- Reminders for renewal training (3-year cycle)

Prerequisites & PPE Requirements
What You Need on MEWP Training Day
Our mobile elevating work platform training in Ontario requires you to meet a set of eligibility criteria, which has been detailed below for your convenience:
- Having proof of valid CPO-approved Working At Heights (or provincial equivalent) certificate is mandatory.
- Dress according to weather conditions.
- Wear CSA-approved safety shoes.
- Bring CSA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE) on training day including full-body harness and a hard hat. If you do not possess this equipment, Act First Safety will loan this equipment for the training. Alternatively, you can purchase the PPE from Act First Safety on training day at very reasonable pricing.

Provincial Aerial Lift / Elevating Work Platform Regulations – Ontario
1. Who needs aerial lift certification in Ontario?
All workers who are regularly using scissor lifts or boom lifts. It doesn’t matter whether you an operator or an occupant or which industry you belong to - certification is a must if your daily job involves operating these machines.
2. Is Act First Safety’s elevating work platform training compliant with CSA standards?
Yes, it is. Our course is completely compliant with the specific standards pertaining to elevating work platforms, namely CSA B354.7:17 and B354.8:17.
3. Is it possible to take this course online?
