Weekly Clinics – Public respirator fit testing
Next Training date:
We are conducting weekly ‘fit testing’ clinics for N95 respirators, half- and full-face masks or respirators. Please contact our office at 416-283-7233 or [email protected] for more information and to schedule an appointment.
Pre-screening of users and infection prevention and control protocols are in place during these clinics. In addition, clinics will be met with limited enrollment, social distancing and infection prevention procedures.
Onsite sessions at your location may be arranged under these same strict guidelines.
Who should attend: Any worker who needs to wear a respirator requires fit testing prior to using the respirator for the first time. Fit testing is required at least annually, but should not exceed two years and should be conducted on each brand and size a user might wear.
Respirator Fit Testing/Train-the-Fit Tester Workshop
Next training dates:
- TBD/ Virtual Training.
From time-to-time, Act First Safety trains key staff members on how to conduct fit testing for their workers. Fit testers are required to meet the definition of competency under the Occupational Health and Safety Act to perform fit testing on others. In addition, the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z94.4 Selection, Care and Use of Respirators, has specific training requirements and competencies for fit testers.
Act First Safety has developed an entirely turn-key Respiratory Fit Testing training program combining theory, practical and equipment requirements ensuring that employers provide the most suitable protection for their workers with the convenience of an internal fit tester. Our instructors are capable of providing training across all industry sectors including industrial, construction and healthcare and are skilled at a number of fit test methods.
This training is conducted in public sessions at our Scarborough location, a customized program at your location and via webinar.
