Worker rescued from Scissor Lift
A construction worker narrowly missed being electrocuted after the scissor lift bucket truck he was in struck a live streetcar wires causing a massive spark.
The incident happened early Tuesday morning at Victoria and Dundas streets in Toronto.
Security footage from City News which is right across the street from the incident, shows the instant the bucket the worker was in touched the live lines, which have 600 volts DC running through them. The footage shows a large flash and sparks flying, as pedestrians jump out of the way to avoid the sparks.
Firefighters and paramedics rushed to scene and waited until the TTC overhead unit worked to shut down the power so the worker could be rescued safely.
