With the rise of people’s dependence on smart phones and other digital devices, it’s really no surprise that more and more companies are turning to e-learning for their employee’s safety training needs. E-learning is a convenient, inexpensive and efficient way for employers to ensure their employees receive the safety training they require. It’s also a scheduling dream as with the click of a mouse or the flick of a finger, employers can provide training for a number of employees in a matter of minutes.

There are a number of online safety learning programs available such as WHMIS, Worker Safety Awareness, Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness, Due Diligence for Managers and Supervisors, Confined Space Awareness and Joint Health and Safety – Part 1 and Part 2 (sector specific) and Fall Protection/Working at Heights among others.

While online learning shouldn’t completely replace instructor based safety training, it’s definitely a viable option for many organizations and often fulfills the theory aspect of training.
